Cutest kid in the universe

Ok, so maybe I'm a little biased, but he is pretty darn cute. Every day, he just amazes me with the things he is learning, and doing. He understands several things now, including sit down (sits down), clean up (puts his toys away, with some help), time to eat (runs to his high chair), and go upstairs (runs to the stairs and pulls on the gate). He's also big into clapping for himself when he does something good. Especially when that "something good" is that he finally stops doing something that he isn't supposed to be doing. He thinks that if he claps when he's done being naughty, the naughty part doesn't count. Sigh. Good thing he's so darn cute.

Happy New Year!!!!

We had a slight technical complication this past weekend (our computer crashed), but we are now back online, and ready to update you on what we have been up to. Christmas was wonderful, busy, and exhausting. We visited Grandma and Grandpa in Winnipeg, and luckily, it wasn't the usual 20 below weather we have come to expect for winter visits. Rob had a lot of fun bundling up in his (Toronto Maple Leaf's) snowsuit and playing in the snow. Grandpa had a lot of fun following Rob up, and trying to teach him how to go down, the stairs. Over and over, and over and over. (Rob likes stairs. A lot). Grandma had fun giving Rob cookies. (Rob likes cookies. A lot). Rob was a trouper on the airplane, and through many visits with many different people. When we got home, that was another story. The next day, I was ready to send him back to Grandma and Grandpa, because he whined and cried the entire day. It made me very thankful that he is normally a happy little guy. I think he was just suffering from cookie withdrawal. Come to think of it, I think we all were. We are all now back to normal (or as normal as we get).

Ice cream is GOOD!!!!

Mom, what are you doing to me??

Big kisses for Aunty Lisa

Brrrr. It's cold out here.

Bad Mommy.

Ok, so aparently I've been negligent in keeping up the blog over the past month. There has been a lot of activity here at the Bywater household over the past month, including, Grandma and Grandpa and Aunty Lisa visiting, Mom and Dad going to Las Vegas, a trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving, and a few days with mom knocked out with the stomach flu. Rob has really taken off with walking, and has had the battle scars to prove it. He has finally started using another sign, besides "more", and is learning to sign "milk". He is making all kinds of sounds, and might be saying "mama" and "dada", but we're really not sure yet. He has a lot of fun when I say "Rob, say mama, mama", and he replies with "dada dada", and laughs hysterically like he knows that he's doing exactly the opposite of what I want him to. Hmmm, is this a preview of things to come? Overall, he is just a sweet and loveable little guy, and we are having so much fun watching him grow and learn new things.

Halloween

Halloween (actually, the 30th, since that is when Racine did it's trick-or-treating), was a very unexciting holiday for us this year. We put on Rob's costume (Darth Vader, of course), and that lasted an hour or so. We tried to get a picture of him in it, but he was having nothing to do with that. Then our camera died (we need a new battery), and we realized that the picture thing was just not going to happen. Today, for Halloween, Rob decided to take a faceplant into the floor, causing yet another fat lip, and blood to gush everywhere. He cried. I cried. We're all going to be ok.

We have more teeth

As we were eating lunch today, I noticed a tiny little bit of white poking through the gums on the bottom. Looks like those teeth are finally coming out, Rob has been chewing on his fingers (and anything else he can get a hold of) for the past couple of weeks, so we were wondering when they would finally come in. I hate that he is in pain, but he is giving the best hugs and cuddles these days, and he puts his hands on my cheeks, to pull me closer so he can give me a kiss. That is absolutely the best thing in the whole world.

I know how to turn on my music CD's now

apparently he was tired of playing

Brrrrrr

I know I can't really complain too much, since it's been snowing in Wpg, but it went from shorts and a tank top to sweaters and jackets in a couple of days here this week. Yikes. Rob has been falling down and bumping into things as usual, but it doesn't seem to bother him too much. The babysitter runs down the list of injuries of the day when I go pick him up, and I just shrug and say, "oh well". Just another day in the life of Robbie. The problem is that he is a daredevil (just like his Daddy), and has no fear. I'd better up our insurance coverage now before the injuries start requiring ER visits.

Disregard the video below

Gregg tried to put up a slide show that he made, but the file was too big for the blog, and now for some reason it won't erase. Anyhow, it doesn't work, so please don't waste your time trying to figure it out. Anyone who wants to see the slide show will just have to come here and see it. (hee hee). Well, this was the first weekend that Daddy and Robbie spent together alone, without Mom. I went to Door County for a weekend of reminiscing and shopping with the girls from UND, and we had a blast, like we always do when we get together. Both guys were still alive when I got home, and the house was still standing, which was good. Robbie had a bit of a black eye, from a coffee table incident, but overall it was a good weekend of male bonding.
