Ice cream is GOOD!!!!

Mom, what are you doing to me??

Big kisses for Aunty Lisa

Brrrr. It's cold out here.

Bad Mommy.

Ok, so aparently I've been negligent in keeping up the blog over the past month. There has been a lot of activity here at the Bywater household over the past month, including, Grandma and Grandpa and Aunty Lisa visiting, Mom and Dad going to Las Vegas, a trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving, and a few days with mom knocked out with the stomach flu. Rob has really taken off with walking, and has had the battle scars to prove it. He has finally started using another sign, besides "more", and is learning to sign "milk". He is making all kinds of sounds, and might be saying "mama" and "dada", but we're really not sure yet. He has a lot of fun when I say "Rob, say mama, mama", and he replies with "dada dada", and laughs hysterically like he knows that he's doing exactly the opposite of what I want him to. Hmmm, is this a preview of things to come? Overall, he is just a sweet and loveable little guy, and we are having so much fun watching him grow and learn new things.

Halloween

Halloween (actually, the 30th, since that is when Racine did it's trick-or-treating), was a very unexciting holiday for us this year. We put on Rob's costume (Darth Vader, of course), and that lasted an hour or so. We tried to get a picture of him in it, but he was having nothing to do with that. Then our camera died (we need a new battery), and we realized that the picture thing was just not going to happen. Today, for Halloween, Rob decided to take a faceplant into the floor, causing yet another fat lip, and blood to gush everywhere. He cried. I cried. We're all going to be ok.

We have more teeth

As we were eating lunch today, I noticed a tiny little bit of white poking through the gums on the bottom. Looks like those teeth are finally coming out, Rob has been chewing on his fingers (and anything else he can get a hold of) for the past couple of weeks, so we were wondering when they would finally come in. I hate that he is in pain, but he is giving the best hugs and cuddles these days, and he puts his hands on my cheeks, to pull me closer so he can give me a kiss. That is absolutely the best thing in the whole world.

I know how to turn on my music CD's now

apparently he was tired of playing

Brrrrrr

I know I can't really complain too much, since it's been snowing in Wpg, but it went from shorts and a tank top to sweaters and jackets in a couple of days here this week. Yikes. Rob has been falling down and bumping into things as usual, but it doesn't seem to bother him too much. The babysitter runs down the list of injuries of the day when I go pick him up, and I just shrug and say, "oh well". Just another day in the life of Robbie. The problem is that he is a daredevil (just like his Daddy), and has no fear. I'd better up our insurance coverage now before the injuries start requiring ER visits.

Disregard the video below

Gregg tried to put up a slide show that he made, but the file was too big for the blog, and now for some reason it won't erase. Anyhow, it doesn't work, so please don't waste your time trying to figure it out. Anyone who wants to see the slide show will just have to come here and see it. (hee hee). Well, this was the first weekend that Daddy and Robbie spent together alone, without Mom. I went to Door County for a weekend of reminiscing and shopping with the girls from UND, and we had a blast, like we always do when we get together. Both guys were still alive when I got home, and the house was still standing, which was good. Robbie had a bit of a black eye, from a coffee table incident, but overall it was a good weekend of male bonding.

I'm walkin, yes indeed, I'm walkin.....

http://media.putfile.com/new025

Yes, he is a whiz with the walker (who knew? We thought he would fall down the first time, but he just took off walking). He took his first real step, without the walker on Sunday too. He was holding on to the fridge, let go, and took one step towards me. I think he was a little shocked. Of course if your mom all of a sudden started clapping and yelling like crazy "yay, way to go" over and over, you would probably be a little shocked too.

Some new stats.

Rob had his 9 month checkup about a week ago, actually at 10 months since we switched peds, and couldn't get it at 9mths. Anyhow, here are the new stats:
height: 28 1/2 inches
weight: 19 lbs,14oz
head circumference: don't remember, but who really cares?
overall diagnosis from dr: flirt. yes, he batted his eyelashes and flashed his million dollar smile the whole time we were there. luckily, no shots this time.

He is cruising around the furniture like nobody's business, and has started giving "5", and "giving" us things when we put our hand out. Unfortunately, when it's something he's not supposed to have, he gets very upset when we don't give it back to him. At the babysitter's house, he is climbing up on everything he can (and bumping his head daily on various pieces of furniture), and sometimes even manages to get the water from the dog's bowl all dumped all over him. The other kids love playing with him, and I watched them play ball the other day, rolling it back and forth to him.

It's working, kind of.

I finally was able to put some pictures up. I still can't do it the way I normally do, but at least I was able to put some up.

Falling asleep in the high chair

But wide awake when the camera comes out.

I just realized how long it has been since I have written, it's been busy lately. Rob is crawling everywhere, and standing up on everything. It's definitely more active around here lately. Over the past couple of weeks we have done a ton of things, taking advantage of any time Daddy is home over the weekends. We have gone to the State Fair, the Art Museum, and the Zoo, all of which were fun.

note: I am trying to put more pictures up, but for some reason the program I use isn't working today. I'll keep trying.

Fat Lip

Trying to climb up on a chair, and eat the chair leg at the same time wasn't a very good idea. Blood everywhere, and Mommy thinking that surely a tooth was knocked out. Just a cut, but a little scary nonetheless. Why do I have the feeling this is the first of many such accidents?!?!

Minneapolis Trip

We went to Minneapolis this weekend to visit with Jessica, and meet Paige, and also to see Grandma and Grandpa, who drove down. We had a great time, mostly following Robbie around trying to make sure he didn't bang his head while trying to crawl or climb up on all of the furniture. Robbie and Paige liked each other, but Rob (as usual) kept trying to pull her hair. He really is going to have to stop doing that to all the girls if he ever wants them to like him. Robbie also had fun playing with Jessica's dog Lucy (i.e. trying to pull her hair too). Again, Robbie was great on the airplane, and made sure that those around us knew he was there by smiling at them and talking to them. He was so worn out when we got home, that he fell asleep in his baby carrier on the way to the car.
