Ok, anyone who knows me knows I have a slight obsession with purses and bags. So...I found this really great website called Parents With Style (http://parentswithstyle.blogspot.com/2008/01/gotta-get-bag.html), and they are giving away a bag from Lexie Barnes (http://www.lexiebarnes.com/), just for mentioning the bags on your blog and telling which bag is your favorite. My absolute favorite one is the "Darling" bag:(http://www.lexiebarnes.com/collection/DLG.htm). How great would that be for travelling and toting the kids around to the zoo, children's museum, etc? So this is my shameless attempt at trying to win this bag, keep your fingers crossed for me.

He's 3!!!!
Mom (as Rob's climbing all over the chairs and jumping around): Rob, calm down.
Rob: No, you calm down.
Isn't this the kind of thing he's supposed to say when he's 15, not 3?

What I learned while Auntie Lisa was visiting:
1. That if I ask to play the elephant game that Lisa gave me for Christmas 25 times a day, eventually the elephant will "disappear" for a couple of days.
2. That if I sit really really quiet outside of my bedroom door, no one will know that I'm not in bed where I'm supposed to be.
3. That is I go downstairs and walk right in front of everyone watching tv in the living room, they WILL know that I'm not in bed where I'm supposed to be.
4. That if I keep pushing and testing....Auntie Lisa WILL put me in time out.
5. That apparently, Auntie Lisa, Grandma and Grandpa all live at the airport (that one kind of makes sense, since we pick them up there, and drop them off there, why wouldn't they live there? He didn't quite grasp the concept that if they lived at the airport, we would probably visit with them more often).
What Auntie Lisa learned while visiting us:
1. That I have a LOT of energy.
2. That climbing over the back of the couch and doing nosedives from one end of it to the other never gets old.
3. That leaving the house with a 3 year old and a 2 month old takes significantly longer than the actual outing does.

Did you know......
that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will take hot pink sharpie off of vinyl flooring? Yup, it does.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Ok, so maybe the New Year's horns weren't such a good idea, but who knew they would be SO LOUD??? We managed to hide them last night while Rob was upstairs after he repeatedly woke up Jaina and blew out our eardrums blowing into the horns 2 inches away from our ears. We did get them back out this morning and let him blow them outside (Happy New Year neighbors!!). Grandma and Grandpa have been here since Dec 18th, and have been spoiling the kids rotten (which is what all good Grandparents must do....it's in the rulebook). Grandma, Grandpa and Robbie have gone sledding a few times, while Rob apparently absolutely loved. I didn't think that Jaina was quite ready for sledding, so we stayed home. Jaina is growing like crazy, as you can see from the pictures. At her last doctor's appointment, she was 21 1/2 inches and weighed 8lbs, 15oz. She likes smiling at us when we talk to us and telling us stories (some of them get quite animated with arms waving all around and yes, there has been some screaming involved). I can't quite believe it either, but she appears to be getting her two bottom teeth at the moment (at 2 mths old!!!) and has been rather cranky at times over the past few days.

Mom: Robbie, (eat your dinner) insert any request here
Robbie: No, me eat dinner (or whatever he doesn't want to do) yesterday.
Santa was very good to the Bywater household this year. Jaina got some socks, some really cute outfits, and a toy telephone. Robbie got cars and trucks, books, and a video game system where he has to pedal a stationary bike to "catch" letters and numbers and things. Daddy got a movie and a Chewbacca figurine, and Mommy got her favorite perfume from Victoria's Secret. We must have all been very good this year. We had a great Christmas, although we had to celebrate Christmas on Boxing Day (for those Americans who don't know what that means, it is the day after Christmas) because Gregg didn't get home from a trip until late on Christmas night. Our neighbors came over for dinner, and then Grandma and the 3 boys played cars while the rest of us chatted. Amazing how much fun a cardboard wrapping paper tube and some Hotwheels can be. We are very lucky to have moved next door to some wonderful people, they are fun and always willing to help us out in a pinch.
It's hard to believe that it is 2008, the past year has flown by. You might say it was an eventful year, what with building a house and having a baby. Happy New Year everyone, we wish you a year filled with laughter, love and happines.
