This morning I woke up to the sound of Robbie's little footsteps coming into our room. I turned over to find him next to my bed, naked. He had taken off his pj's, and his pullup, and had brought me a new pullup and long pants (it was 80 degrees today) and the t-shirt he wore yesterday. "Dressed Mommy, dressed". Guess he was ready to get up and start his day.
Mom had Open House (Meet the Teacher) at work tonight, so after meeting Rob and Daddy for dinner, the boys headed home and Mom stayed at work. When I got home, Gregg was chuckling, and told me that he went into our bedroom, and was puzzled to see "Puppy" in our bed. A closer look revealed that not only was puppy in our bed, but so was Robbie. Apparently after Daddy put him to bed, he snuck into our room and fell asleep on our bed. I guess it's better than him getting out of bed and running around the house.
Daycare has been going really well, Rob seems to be liking it a lot. He says "hi" and "bye" to his friends there, and besides crying when Dad picked him up today (because the teacher told him to get down off the table) he's doing great. Every time we get in the car and go towards his daycare he says "see Robbie's school", and knows exactly when we are getting close. He also knows where "Mom's doctor" is, and every day has to tell me that "Me come too" (meaning, he came to the doctor there with me), and that we heard "baby's heart". I don't think he really gets it about the whole baby thing, but he knows something's up.

4th time's a charm
It was another traumatic morning for Rob (and for me). We walked into the daycare, and he refused to go inside the classroom. I finally got him in there, and I made the mistake of moving more than an inch away from him, when the tears started. I had to hand him over to his teacher, and walk out, looking happy and saying "I'll see you later" as he was crying and reaching for me. But...... when I went to pick him up, he was happily riding a bike, and singing his ABC's with the rest of the class. His teacher even gave him a certificate saying that he had a "happy day", with lots of stickers on it. I guess he cried for 5 min after I left, and then was fine the rest of the day. He talked about school all the way home. He had a major meltdown when we got home for about a half hour, which wasn't helped by the fact that he got his fingers caught in the pantry door, but after lots of cuddles and kisses (and some Thomas the Train fruit snacks) he was in a great mood. So, besides being completely exhausted after my first full day of work, and stressing out that my child was going to be scarred for life from his daycare experience, it turned out to be a pretty good day. Sigh. I think I need another vacation.

A long week.
It's been a week of changes around here, as I have gone back to work and Rob is at his new daycare. He seems to like it there, and has fun, but misses Mommy during the day. His teacher says that every time the door opens and it isn't me, he gets sad. Daddy and I went to pick him up on Friday afternoon and he came running up to me, jumped in my arms, hung on for dear life and cried. Sigh. Nothing like Mommy guilt, I cried for the next 2 hours. However, his teachers reassured us that most of the day he is playing and having fun with the kids, and he talks about what he did at "school" all the time. We are really hoping that it doesn't take long for him to get used to his new routine so Mommy doesn't turn into a complete nervous wreck.
On a brighter note, Rob went to his first movie at the movie theater last night. We saw Ratatouille, which by the way was a really cute movie. Rob did really well for his first movie, but got a little tired and restless near the end. Having a box of popcorn in front of him helped though. No mention of the movie today, but he has talked about popcorn all day. Shows where his priorities are. We are having a very low key, relaxing Labor Day weekend, just hanging out and resting before the chaos of next week begins. Mom's blood pressure was a little high at the dr's last week (which isn't surprising since my appt was on the first day back at work, and Rob's first day at the daycare), but we're relaxing as much as possible to try to make sure that it doesn't become a problem. I really really don't want to hear those dreaded 2 words "bed rest".
Well speaking of dreaded things, it appears from the odor in the air that Rob needs a diaper change. Have a great long weeekend!!
